In April 2018, Make-A-Wish Connecticut and the FOX 61 television station in Hartford rolled out a joint effort that will help inform the public about the powerful impact of a wish. Through the partnership, FOX 61 will broadcast a weekly segment called “Make-A-Wish Stories of HOPE” that will spotlight a Connecticut child and his or her wish, as well as the key community stakeholders who help make those wishes come true. These segments will air on news programs throughout the week on the Tuesday night news and on Wednesday morning and Sunday morning shows.

A granted wish can be powerful for a critically ill child, providing positive physical and emotional boosts that have shown positive survival outcomes. In her comments, Make-A-Wish Connecticut president and CEO Pam Keough says that one out of five children who are eligible for Make-A-Wish programs are not being reached. She hopes that spotlighting the charity on news programs will help lower that number.
